Hands On with ICSI!

With the new office coming together nicely, more laboratory equipment has been set up for our demo lab. We recently built an ICSI rig to show the team how the rig is used, as well as its different purposes. We collected samples of diatoms from the harbour, which were used as a focus point to build the team’s confidence in using the equipment. During the hands-on experience, the ICSI process was explained in detail, and the team had a go at using the micromanipulator to image and manipulate samples. Having resided in Tresillian, Truro for many years, we have now moved further down south. Over the last few years, the business has grown in more ways than one. The purpose of a carbon pre-filter

  Some Safety Cabinets make use of an external carbon pre-filter. The purpose of the carbon pre-filter is to purify the air which passes through it, preventing harmful volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from contaminating airflow. This works via a process called adsorption, in which material travels from a gas or liquid phase and forms a superficial monomolecular layer on a solid or liquid condensed phase. The common carbon pre-filters are manufactured to remove 99.97% of particles that have a size either greater or equal to 0.3 microns.
